Preskúmali sme proces vybavovania žiadostí na všetkých oddeleniach cudzineckej polície na Slovensku. Zo zistení vyplynulo, že oddelenia disponujú slabou vybavenosťou komunikácie v cudzích jazykoch, nedostatočným personálnym obsadením a materiálnym vybavením a čelia nedostatkom nového elektronického objednávacieho systému.
Na základe prieskumu som odporučila Úradu hraničnej a cudzineckej polícii a Ministerstvu vnútra Slovenskej republiky prijať opatrenia, ktoré umožnia cudzineckej polícii fungovať efektívnejšie a spravodlivejšie vo vzťahu k žiadateľom a žiadateľkám. Slovenská republika ako členský štát Európskej únie by im mala garantovať úroveň služieb, aká sa vyžaduje od demokratického a právneho štátu.
Odporúčania som im adresovala začiatkom júna, spätnú väzbu však doteraz nedostala.

RESULTS OF THE INQUIRY: IT IS NECESSARY TO IMPROVE THE FOREIGNERS’ POLICE SERVICES
We carried out an inquiry into the handling of applications at all Border and Foreigners’ Police Departments (BFPDs). Our findings point to inadequate language skills of the BFPDs officers, insufficient staffing, inadequate premises and the deficiencies of the new electronic appointment scheduling system.
Based on our findings, I proposed a set of measures to the Bureau of Border and Foreigners’ Police and to the Ministry of Interior designed to improve the situation in the handling of foreigners’ applications for residence permits, make the practices across the entire BFPD service consistent, and ensure full respect for the applicants’ fundamental rights and freedoms and the principles of the good governance. The Slovak Republic as the EU member state should guarantee the level of services required of the democratic state based on the rule of law.I addressed my recommendations in early June. I haven’t received any feedback yet.
